There is no end to my list of unusual bag changes: boats, cars, fields, beaches and even midway through a marathon. It\u2019s never ideal and is sometimes difficult, but being prepared makes it manageable and far less stressful.<\/h4>\n\n\n

Preparing before going out<\/strong><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Staying prepared mainly helps me prevent leaks and makes any unexpected bag change much easier. Depending on what I\u2019m doing, I sometimes start preparing the night before. For events like running races, I\u2019ll often change my bag the evening before; having a fresh bag on for around 12 hours gives me confidence that it\u2019s secure and gives me time to alleviate any issues before the event itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food and drink also play a big part in my preparation. The day before, I avoid foods that cause gas or make my output looser. This helps me feel calmer and gives me confidence that I can enjoy my day worry free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carrying supplies<\/strong><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I never leave the house without a spare bag change, even for a short dog walk. I keep a small, discreet bag packed so I can grab it quickly and head straight to the bathroom. My kit usually includes: a spare ModaVi <\/strong>bag, an freeseal<\/strong>, barrier spray<\/strong>, disposal bag, wipes and a spare pair of knickers. Having everything ready in one place makes changing on the go much easier and less stressful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changing while out and about<\/strong><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, no matter where you are, a full bag change is the best option. The first public change is daunting but once it\u2019s necessary, getting a new bag on becomes the priority and the adrenaline takes over. With practice, changes become quicker and more routine, even outside the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maintaining comfort and security<\/strong><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When I\u2019m out and about, avoiding leaks and skin irritation is key. I use the freeseal <\/strong>to give my skin an extra layer of protection and flange extenders<\/strong> to help keep my bag secure for longer. I also wear supportive underwear to keep my bag in place and to help reduce discomfort from my hernia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019re familiar with your new routine and have gained confidence in changing your bag, getting out and about becomes much easier. Early on, I worried a lot about my bag leaking or being noticeable. Now I know that most people don\u2019t notice at all, and even if my bag starts filling up, it\u2019s easy to manage. With the right preparation you can still live life to the absolute fullest!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
