The Eakin story began back in 1973 in Comber, Northern Ireland thanks to one man’s vision – pharmacist (and legend) Tom Eakin – who was inspired by listening to the problems of ostomates and nurses. His relentless focus on supporting his customers resulted in the creation of eakin Cohesive^® seals and eakin wound pouches^TM, which are still seen as world class ostomy products today. 

For over 30 years, Eakin Healthcare and Convatec have partnered to bring these, and more ostomy innovations, to ostomates in North America – USA and Canada. Over the years, our product range has expanded, our brands have evolved and the scale of our partnership has grown. What has never changed is our shared belief that people living with a stoma deserve trusted products, meaningful choice and support that helps them live the life they want.

The introduction of eakin freeseal^® alongside the original eakin Cohesive^® range marks the next chapter in our shared story. Together, the ranges provide more choice to help clinicians tailor care to each person’s stoma, body profile and skin needs, while reinforcing the important role a reliable seal can play within an everyday ostomy skincare routine.
