eakin freeseal® air is available in 10mm, 18mm and 30mm starter holes to suit different stoma sizes.
As a general guide:
– 10mm starter hole (839017) – for stomas under 18mm.
– 18mm starter hole (839007) – for stomas between 18mm and 30mm.
– 30mm starter hole (839008) – for stomas over 30mm.
If you’re unsure which size is right for you, speak to your stoma care nurse.
100% yes! eakin freeseal® are highly mouldable and can be stretched, shaped, torn and rejoined without affecting their performance. Simply either wrap and/or press the pieces back together and mould the seal to fit the shape of your stoma.
Yes, eakin freeseal® are designed to maintain their shape during use. You may find it slightly swells as its ultra-absorbent1 formula helps manage output but it is designed to be removed cleanly in one piece for quicker, easier bag changes.
If you use eakin Cohesive® seals, you may find they gel during use, that is also normal for that range. It is a different formula and eakin Cohesive® seals have advanced protection against corrosive enzyme so are more suitable for higher output stomas, or where skin issues exist.
In most cases the seal will peel away either attached to the baseplate or by peeling away from the skin from the outer edge. Then use a wet tissue, dry-wipe or cloth to clean the skin of any remaining residue, and dry.
Sometimes you may need the use of a medical-grade adhesive remover to remove any stubborn or leftover residue.
Yes, eakin freeseal® are compatible with all stoma bags.

Yes, we have had great results from individuals with a urostomy who are finding eakin freeseal®a good choice for them. Urostomies often need to be changed quicker so because eakin freeseal® is designed to quickly remove in one piece, it is proving a better option. eakin freeseal® also boosts high absorption to help you keep the baseplate on for longer.
eakin freeseal® air, are our thinner seals so if you aren’t getting the weartime you need, consider a freeseal® versa, which is a slightly thicker option.

eakin freeseal® formula boosts high absorbency1 per g over a seal like our eakin Cohesive® range, but a thinner seal will of course have less material so lower capacity. If you have looser or higher volumes of output you might need a slightly thicker seal.
