We would suggest using adhesive remover spray or wipes with each stoma bag change as this will help you peel away your stoma bag with ease and help avoid skin being tugged or pulled causing damage or pain.

This is completely up to you and how much you feel you need to use to remove your stoma bag. As a suggestion, spray around the top of your stoma bag and gently peel downwards, this should be a smooth and gentle removal with no force needed. If you’re finding your skin is being pulled spray again and repeat this until the stoma bag is completely detached. Any gel left on your skin you can then wipe away – even using another spray or a remover wipe if needed. Don’t forget to dry the skin before your next stoma bag application!

The silicone based remover contains no alcohol and just ingredients known to be skin friendly. As with any new product you are trying, we would suggest a patch test on the skin you are applying it to – just to be sure.

It’s really important before the application of a new pouch that you dry your skin around your stoma. The adhesive remover dries in seconds but should you apply a bit extra that hasn’t dried before your next stoma bag application, just remove with a dry wipe or tissue. It’s so good at its job, if left wet on the skin your next stoma bag might not stick properly!
